Curriculum Design and Delivery projects will be out in force at ALT-C next week so here's some info for those who are attending. Projects and the programmes will be leading a range of sessions so please do attend these to find out more about the innovative work that is going on: Managing Curriculum Design in an Agile Environment Tues 8th 10.55-11.55 Staffordshire University will be talking about the Enable project which is joining together various institutional change initiatives. Herding cats?: Engaging stakeholders in complex institutional change projects Tues 13.40-15.00 Birmingham City, Cardiff, Cambridge, City and Greenwich universities (Design Cluster B) will be exploring approaches and techniques for effectively engaging stakeholders in complex change projects in this symposium. Curriculum Challenges Wed 9th 9.00-10.20 This symposium will explore some of the curriculum challenges facing the sector around curriculum design and how projects in this programme are approaching these. After an introduction to the programme clusters and the key challenges they are exploring, an interactive session led by the project teams will invite participants to contribute to the 'unpacking' of the challenges they are facing and what they would like to see emerging from the programme to support their needs.
Redesigning Pedagogy: Enhancing Curriculum Delivery for Posgraduate Distance Learning through new technologiesWed 9th 9.00-10.00The University of Leicester will be talking about the DUCKLING projects, one of the Curriculum Delivery projects, which is looking at the use of Second Life, podcasts and e-readers to support pg distance learning.
Making Assessment Count Wed 9th 10-55-11-55 The University of Westminster will be talking about the work they are doing under the Curriculum Delivery programme with assessment and feedback with Bioscience students. Representing and Supporting Curriculum Design and Task, Module and Programme level Thurs 10th 9.00-10.20 The OU, Strathclyde and Ulster projects (Design Cluster C) will explore in this symposium the types of curriculum design representations that offer the most value to academics, support staff and students and examine the variety of purposes that curriculum design representations might serve in improving curriculum design activities in different institutional contexts. This is a concept launch which marks the start of a consultation with the wider community about the resources it would like to see emerging over the coming months and years.
